Do you feel like you are constantly cooking with everyone being at home? If you haven't already, consider weekly meal planning and enlist your family. I use an erasable whiteboard and every Sunday the family picks a supper meal to create. They are responsible for ensuring we have the items in advance or they need to pick a different recipe. ( we are doing all our grocery shopping online) If they need help or a sous-chef they have to ask someone in advance. This will get your family to try different things or in the case of my husband, he rotates his three meals of spaghetti, tacos and barbecued steak. It takes a bit of persistence to get going, but it is well worth it, if you tend to be the main cook in the house. My mistake early on was lingering in the kitchen and micro managing which was defeating the whole purpose.
My son loves cheesecake, so in March, I went online and downloaded some recipes made a cookbook and bought him a small cheesecake pan. We now have a baker for all our special occasions and he loves the compliments that follow!!!
If you need some inspiration, this restaurant below is offering free cooking webinars. I have contacted them and they put their menus and shopping lists out in advance, so you can cook along side the chef. As a family we are going to check it out next week, hopefully it is not too fancy or expensive. (A friend of mine has done a few and loves them.)
I have also included a great website that has lots of fantastic recipes and family information for making life healthy and fun.
Create a great day and enjoy the long weekend, Ms B
